KK Trip February 2023 Part 2

SUNDAY, 05th February 2023.

Sambung cerita pasal the day two of our trip to KK. Actually, today my damam worsened. I can't only be on and off smelling things as my nose is so blocked. At least I still enjoy eating as my taste palette wasn't affected much. Once I spend a lil time under the sun my blocked nose gets better and I can smell again.

So mcm biasa lah once kami siap mandi apa terus ke Level 1 for breakfast. Yth masa kami baru baru travel sama sama, my Wife hairan kenapa aku santai. Well, I told her no point in keluar awal as breakfast was provided by the hotel and shops are only open at 10 am. Hence there is no need to rush for everything.

The breakfast spread wasn't as grand as the one that we experience at The Klagan Hotel. However, I have to admit in terms of taste wise, The Luma Hotel trump on the breakfast. Yes, the selection was kinda limited. And you can only pick one from four types of ala carte meal but it was delicious.

So for today, I chose the American breakfast that comes with a choice of sunny side up or scrambled eggs with hashbrowns, sausages, grilled tomatoes, and a simple salad with dressing. While my wife opted for Mee Siam with satay-flavoured chicken cutlets, sunny-side-up eggs, and sambal. My wife then let me taste her meal and I love it, especially the sambal. I even imagined if the sambal was so good then their nasi lemak will be great too. So I called up the waiter and ordered a separate nasi lemak.

Behold, the best nasi lemak I've ever tasted in KK. One of the best meals I've had on both trips. Cost me RM38.00 but who bloody cares. Time damam ani and aku merasa nyaman makan. Nda ku rugi langsung hahahaha.

Hasil hasil gambar yang di ambil oleh my Wife. As I mentioned in the previous post. This was not the room that I booked, we got upgraded to a bigger room that includes a bathtub which I used only once. It also has his and her sink. The shower area was separated by a glass panel with a door next to the sink and the toilet was actually in a different room. So I really love the design, as you can only imagine the horror of somebody doing number 2 while you were soaking in the tub. Owh in case you wanna watch tv while soaking. You can always swing that vertical window blinds.

Yatah nya biniku. Dari awal udah aku mau bilik yang ada bathtub. Then she rejected the idea as she didn't want us to pay more for our hotel room. But walaupun damam at least Allah sampaikan hajat ku kan berandam dalam bathtub. Pebaik sekali hahaha.

Bukan aku saja terasa kana pampered, kereta ku pun terasa kana pamperd jua yang banar nya hahahaha. Dapan dapan bah kami parking ahh. Kemarin ada 2 buah kereta org Brunei parking next to me. Seems like they left home already.

My wife minta video kan while we were on our way out. If you can hear properly, I was trying hard to hold my breath supaya nda kedangaran angih-angih haha. And also you can see clearly in this video that our car was parked right in front of the main entrance. Nda rugi membayar $30.00 semalam haha.

So today our plan was kan do a little bit of shopping. My wife memajal kan ke One Borneo pasal di sana ada kadai Cotton On for kids. So I asked her balik2 siapa gtau. Katanya this person. Then I asked again, bila did u receive this info. 5 years back. I told her, are you sure? Better asked her again. Katanya nda payah cari saja udah sampai sana. But knowing her and me trusting her. I know going to One Borneo is a bad idea.

Dijadikan cerita, the trip going to One Borneo using Grab cost us RM14, hence the total amount for a round trip was Rm28. Dijadikan cerita sesampai saja kami ke One Borneo, my first impression was eh napa ya cawir usulnya ani kan. When we went in macam eh ani kah usul One Borneo ani? Bida jua mcm nda terjaga. I kid you not, mcm ada barang tumpah arah lantai pun nada kana bersihkan. 

Then I asked my wife again, banar kah ni kadai kan kau cari ani sini. I can clearly see from her reaction, she knows the shop is not there. So biasalah, me being myself, I gave her a hard time. Hahahahahaha we only did one round on the ground floor, and I just book for grab car immediately. 

Had a good laugh in the grab while on our way to Suria Sabah. Even the Grab drive was surprise kami ke One Borneo hahaha. And then yang pacahnya, when we were about to sampai Suria Sabah. We saw a big Cotton On signage and both of us were laughing. Imagine lah kekusutanku time damam, hidung ku lagi mcm not comfortable pasal my breath was so hot as I was wearing a mask at the same time.

Chinese New year theme jua banar bah aa. Year of the Rabbit, even baju di Cotton On pun mostly theme nya ani. We bought a few T-shirts, Leggings, and Jeans for the munchkins at home. At this time both of us wish, they were with us as sanang mencubakan baju. Tapi baik jua nda lah since aku damam. Kejangkitan tia kang bahh.

My wife also stopped by the Mothercare store for the new one which will be coming next week. Yes, four girls ni kangggg hahahahaha. Good luck to the father. 

We also stopped by my wife's favorite bakery booth. She loves their croissant, and she wanted to buy some as a snack since knowing my panas ani turun naik. Plus aku is kinda cranky jua because of it. But ku tabahkan saja salnya kesian jua ku kan biniku. Plus nampak bah happy mukanya. And menganangkan jua what she had been through in the last couple of months. I might as well lawan damam ku ani.

Malamnya we went to Imago for dinner. After Suria Sabah, we're supposed to go to Wisma Merdeka as aku kan ke Tong's. But badanku mulai kajar2, and jua sakit kepala and very mengusut. So I told my Wife, let's go back to the hotel. Lemme rest and makan ubat tidur apa. Then afterwards I bring you out again.

So we went back, as soon as sampai di Hotel taus makan ubat, and got knocked out. Only to wake up at 6.30 pm, by then aku udah malas kan jalan and kan mau sambung tidur lagi. But aku kesian kan biniku. Pasalnya aku pun nda nyaman tidur pasal badan panas, wap panas barutah kan keluar dari badanku hence malar tersadar and I can see my wife trying to entertain herself by looking at the window watching KK gone by and such. Then once she realized aku sadar she then lie down at the her bed. Katanya kalau nda nyaman badan jantah jalan but I know from her face that she wanted to go out. So I told lets go to Imago for dinner at 4fingers.

Tonight aku nda mau ambil grab. So I decided to drive up since its a short drive jua. Kepala masih ayung, so the crankiness still linger hence you guys can see from my face hahaha and then malam atu jua ada lion dance show at the entrance. Ting Tong Ting Tong ingar hantap membari kan meneriak bah nyuruh adang hahahaha.

So 4fingers review? I cannot give an accurate review as this was the first time aku makan and no standard to base it upon. On taste-wise, I didn't enjoy it as aku masih damam but though for saying that, it didn't wow me either as it tasted like any other deep-fried wings. It has its crunchiness, and the sauce tasted padas but meh. So when my friend bertanya nyaman kan. I just said okay laaa. And during hairan as they said when they tasted in Singapore nyaman. And my response was, atu SG ani KK mana sama.

From there on, my wife insisted that kami membali boost drinks help curb my sickness. So we bought two sets of Immunity booster drinks and my words. That damn drink works like a magic.

Drove home to the hotel feeling a bit refreshed but my Wife now showing signs of catching a fever. Sticky throat dah kedia. Oh No!

KK Trip February 2023 Part 3

MONDAY, 06th February 2023.

Day 3 of our recent trip to KK. And today my Wife mulai udah nda nyaman rasa badan. Mulai udah damam kedia eh. Kesian kompom menjangkit dari kediaku. While for myself, alhamdulillah energy atu udah berbalik and because both of us terasa mcm nda banyak berjalan I decided to extended our stay to another day here in KK.

Also one of the reason why aku extend pasalnya today baru ku berjumpa dengan c Jirul. He had to fly back home with his family pasalnya her mother was desperately ill. And by the time you were reading this post. His mother sadly passed away on Thursday 09/02/2023.

This post going to be a long read guys. So enjoy haha.

Today mood ada baik lah tapi saya punya bini. Banyak kesian mulai udah ada rasa damam hehehe. And as usual we started our day by having breakfast.

I can't get enough of the nasi lemak guys. The second time I'm having it and rasa masih tetap sama. So well done chef! I even make sure the waiter relays my masakan mu nyaman message to the chef.

Just sharing another jamban photo and you can see clearly the shower room. Basar banar lah bilik ani. Worth the money uhuk RM6++ plang harganya semalam. Haha ah yes as I mentioned earlier we decided to extend our stay here. Since bilik kami ani kana upgrade hence harga pun nda sama dengan apa yang ku bayar. I told them I don't mind changing rooms as long as I don't have to leave the room during checkout and move out once our new room is ready.

Sekali runding punya runding the receptionist then offered us to stay in our current room if we agreed to pay an extra RM80 cash on top of what we paid for our extension. I said why not! And our room is sorted out.

Our next order of the day was to kidnap Jirul from his office and then drag him back to his house. This was me doing my beras wangi and tenun Brunei haha. Plus taus lah kami touring kawasan rumahnya of which you guys can check out below.

As mentioned by Jirul, his residency ani was smacked in the middle of Sutera Harbour where the elitist of Sabah live and we can see why.

Before we left Sutera Harbour, menyampati dulu ambil gambar with the sea as our background. Gotta say KK know how to invest in their sea view.

Next up was having lunch at KK Seafood Garden at Jalan Tugu. Alhamdulillah, thank you Jirul for the treat.

Today hari mendulur my wife haha. Bukan plang kan berabis berbelanja but brought to all the place yang aku nda berapa mau ngaga during the last few days. So liat tah saja video aa. Walaupun damam but didulur shopping arah kadai kesukaannya, aku plang angih-angih menguyung.

Taking a break from the shopping and I have to be honest, I was all sweaty from the speed walk hahaha. Mind you hebat lagi biniku, as I didn't even bother to gambar each kadai yang ya masuk haha.

As I was saying, we stopped by for a breather at Teo Chew stall pasal my wife nampak cendol durian and wanted to try it. Why for myself I just settled for sirap bandung. So review? Well nya my wife nyaman lagi cendol di Brunei and I just leave it there haha.

After Imago, we went back to the hotel. Rehat kajap then by 5:30 pm both my wife and I, meet up with Jirul again for high tea and a spot of sunset view at Hyatt Centric. Didn't even bother to take a photo of the menu list and the food that we ordered as both myself and my wife was overwhelmed by the view.

Okay, lah let's be honest I do know some would say the view, is not that perfect since you still can clearly see the roof of Suria Sabah. And also our conversation was constantly interrupted by planes on their landing approach into KKIA but hey I don't mind it at all.

Ended our lepak around 7-8 pm. And aku kinda macam tahi palat pasalnya nda ku berkira membayar valet parking RM20 for 3 hours hahaha. We dropped off Jirul at his car then we go jalan jalan to Suria Sabah sekajap pasal mencari perfume sekali tampat yang ku dulu membali masa ani under renovation. So its a no go, then my wife bah ke Imago tah since I remember I saw one at Parkson. Keluar dari Suria Sabah we saw Jesselton Duty-Free and I thought dari ku ke Imago might as well stop here and bought myself a new perfume.

Mahal sedikit lah dari harga di Parkson but since the place is right next to Suria Sabah, I thought malas ku banyak pikir lagi. Perut pun lapar balik and since tonight is our last night in KK. My wife wanted to have dinner at a local eatery next to our hotel.

We had our dinner at Kopi Ping restaurant, Sutera Avenue. Same building as our hotel. Ordered wantan hor and KK never fail to disappoint me. Usulnya nyaman plang and look at the egg sauce, pelikat. However, bila udah dirasa I'm sorry bukannya kan taiming or nda bersyukur but Trader's Inn wantan hor can beat this easily. I don't even think yang lada singapore can help much hahaha.

My wife ordered aglio olio and she loves it. Nyaman nya syukur tah alhamdulillah.

Okay, what I wrote above might sound petulant and ungrateful for me criticizing the food. But in my defense, it's a restaurant, I'm paying for it, and the quality should be better. And I didn't sulk and let the food go to waste. I did manage to finish it.

But going on holiday in KK can teach you a lot about being thankful for what you have. Even I can say as far as a Bruneian. Our quality of life atu ah jauh bah lebih baik dari durang ani. And it is a humbling thought. Cua liat anak dua org ah. At this hour they should be at home but no. They stayed out and berdagang keropok. And the girl was still young she can't even explain well what she was saying. At the same time, a guy was sitting and waiting for food that he needs to deliver. And when we saw what he used to deliver the food with, my wife and I were shocked. Makai biskal bah and biskal nya ani lagi mcm membari kesian. Hence, the reason I stop complaining about how blunt my wantan hor tastes is and finish it hahaha.

KK Trip February 2023 Part 4

TUESDAY, 07th February 2023.

The day we depart home for Brunei. Mcm sekajap banar rasanya our vacation this time around.

Our last breakfast at The Luma Hotel. I'll make sure I had the American Breakfast and at the same time, ordered the nasi lemak for a takeaway. Wifey had the beef broth, and it was good, she is still sick so she didn't really enjoy it.

Walked out of the hotel after checking out. Then I saw a Ferrari parked next to me hahaha. Jangan nda galat ses. Thanks for having us, The Luma Hotel.

Just in case kamu kan tahu cana usul hotel kami dari jalan. You see that pedestrian bridge that we just drove under. You can use that to cross over the highway and walk straight to Imago. 

But kami being a true Bruneian, pakai kereta sendiri saja lebih senang hahahaha.

Opted to use Jalan Papar Lama since its dual carriageway. Jalan Lok Kawi is fine but I prefer berlaju di sini. A word of caution though, there might be a speed trap up ahead.

As usual kalau udah on the way back home. Stopping by Kimanis road side stall for pusu, udang karing and amplang as well. Tapi mesti jua pandai mencari lah pasalnya barang ani bukannya murah lagi.

We stopped by Sipitang for a spot of lunch. Kami cuba makan di kadai nasi ayam just across the Esplanad. Malas kami kan makan kawasan satay ah. Sorry nda kami tergambar as both of us was super hungry. Mind you guys, kami sampai Sipitang around 2 pm. 

Then terkanang kami yang my mother in law berkirim buah and ngam tah jua ada gerai berjual buah. Taus tah singgah membali apa yang patut for both Sg Tampoi and Pandan house.

The road to Sindumin was a bit rough. Nda dpt berlaju as jalan alum kana turap. The view was fine the road was just difficult. And sekali ani kinda panjang the stretch. Membari mental jua lah.

Finally! Brunei! Owh that was a long drive. The ride getting from Sindumin to Lawas was super long. Luckily nda banyak traffic so dpt jua belaju sikit. However, since it is jalan kampung nda jua dpt berlaju banar.

Sampai sampai umah, after membawa barang semua naik. Taus eh swabbing and Alhamdulillah the result for the both of us came out as negative. Phew!

Makan lagi nasi lemak from The Luma Hotel. Ani namanya makan yang enak pasal feeling relieve diri nda kana barang semacam atu hahaha Alhamdulillah.

KK Trip Summary

This post is about roughly sharing how much I spent during our recent trip to KK but also this post reflects only part of our spending. This post is more about sharing harga hotel and jua cost minyak kereta.

Now let's start with the accommodation costs. As mentioned in the previous blog post, we opted to spend a lil bit more on accommodation as we wanted to relax a lil bit this time around. So chose to stay at The Luma Hotel, a colleague of mine recently stayed there and had a good time hence we wanted to have an experience of our own.

This was the price for our original booking. Staying for 4D3N, we booked this slot using the booking.com website. Akan tetapi aku atu macam mahal jua usulnya eh and batah rasanya. 

Then aku check the Booking.com apps on my phone and suddenly the price dropped as clearly shown in the photo above. Since I am still entitled to free cancellation. I just canceled the booking that I made via the website and immediately booked the dates by using the app.

And of course, as mentioned earlier I just opted to shorten our stay hence we got it a bit cheaper. However, as the next mentioned below.

Now that I composed the post, I just realized how much I would have saved if I just stay with the earlier plan of staying for 4D3N. I ended up paying more hahahaha what an idiot. Also not mentioned here was the cost of staying in our upgraded room. The price that was shown above was the rate for the room that we booked via the Booking.com app and since we decided to stay in our current room, I have topped up another RM80. And on top of that, another RM10 for the tourism rate (makan darah banar) and another RM30 to secure a parking space right in front of the entrance.

Do I regret it? Not a single bit. Both my wife and I really enjoyed the stay. Yes, both of us got sick but it is still an enjoyable stay. Of course, there were a few regrets as we never get to go to a few places that we planned for. One of them was Gayang restaurant and when I woke up the day after we got home, I suddenly miss KK hahahaha. Nampak gayanya mesti dilawat lagi lah ni.

Okay next would be fuel, as banyak yang bertanya banar kah di KK nda menjuali minyak arah kereta Brunei. Only selected filling station saja yang mau menjuali. This statement is half correct, as I can confirm filling station in KK will not sell you the Ron 95 type. However, the Ron 97 / V Power type is available for us. So bear in mind lah bila kitani kan top up minyak, sediakan saja dlm RM 100, as it cost us about RM70 to fill up the tank of our car. And also jangan lupa price vary ikut macamana level kehausan kereta masing2. 

Again as I mentioned earlier, kami fill up minyak the day before leaving for KK. Drove all to KK and didn't stop for a fill-up. Our car just stay in the car park during our first day in KK. Only on Sunday evening, we decided to drive around KK but nda jua jauh banar lah. If we sampai ke Gayang maybe awal mengisi. Kami hanya mengisi minyak the day before kami balik ke Brunei. 

I told my wife, plan ku ke KK ani just kan belibur saja, kan makan ice cream Godiva, kan makan ke Gayang, kan bali spendet di Tong's and yg pending beli perfume utk complete my Chanel collection.

So Alhamdulillah lah walaupun ada a few hajat yang nda kesampaian but a few dpt jaditah. Andang udah niat di hati kan relax saja and bukannya kan shopping sakan. Apa jua nya usin performance bonus and annual bonus yang kami save. Bukan mcm dulu, mun dulu ngam loan keluar mana nda serupa org kaya hahahahaha. Apapun Alhamdulillah, I will still come n visit KK. Mesti tu disampaikan ke Gayang aa and makan udang steam. Sia Sia Pun!

What's Up With Me Lately?

MONDAY, 13th February 2023.

Hello everyone! As for the title of this post, what's up with me lately. Quite a very eventful last few weeks. Ada part nya membari sasak, ada part nya membari grateful jua.

Ada masa nanti ku share lah ah but for now enough for me to say yang aku masih lagi cuti hehehe. My wife is going to be back in the office in the morning, so she is fast asleep. As for me, well I'm gonna enjoyed these last few days where I can stay up late without feeling guilty or worried.

Actually right now, I am kinda having writer's block so I'm gonna end this post short and sweet. So BYE BYE! Haha.
